Bookmaker Must Pay Winners

A popular British bookmaker must pay winners after making a bad bet.

Before you make a bet on something make sure the other person does not already know the outcome.

This is the lesson a British bookmaker is learning, after they accepted bets on the plot of a popular British Soap Opera.

The bookmaker decided to take bets after hearing that the TV show Coronation Street was going to do a Who Shot JR type cliff hanger when they kill off long time popular character Charlie Stubbs.

What the bookie did not know was that the producers had no intention of keeping the murderer secrete, and that the answer has been in trailers and in several Soap Opera magazines that discuss future show plots.

The bookmaker has decided that in a sense of fair play and the Christmas season to pay all those who correctly picked the killer as Tracy Barlow, and for those who bet on the wrong character as the killer, they will have there money back since they had no chance of winning from the time they placed their bets.

A spokesman for the bookmaker has said this is going to cost between $20,000 and $40,000 dollars, but fair is fair, he added "we thought this was going to be a 50 horse race but it was a 1 horse race."
