The owners of Joker Casino on Mount Rushmore Road claimed that they were robbed Last Sunday. The robbery is now being investigated by Rapid City police.
According to Capt. Ed Hofkamps report, a man came to Jokers Casino and ordered the clerk to give him money. The robber didnt use a weapon, but he threatened the clerk with a weapon shaped object wrapped with a cloth. The man was last tracked running to the back of the building with the stolen money in a plastic shopping bag. There were no injuries in the robbery, and the amount of money that was stolen is not known.
The description given by the clerk of the man who robbed the casino fits the description of a man who robbed Ernie Novembers and a Big D convenience store, as described by the victims of those robbery incidents. Hofkamp is skeptic about the possibility that there is a connection between the two crimes, but he says that the case is being reviewed now.
Hofkamp asks anyone who might have any information about this robbery to contact the police departments criminal investigation division at 394-4134.
